The essential element to our practice is you, the Patient and our referring M.D’s.  Our goal is to provide care that is second to none via physicians and staff who are knowledgeable in all aspects of Gastroenterology.  We believe that this carebe delivered with compassion, confidentiality, and understanding of your need for service regardless of race, religion, or economic background.  It is strongly felt that the most powerful medicine is knowledge, and to this end we will do our best to educate you on your diagnosis and treatment as well as inform your Primary Physician.  We accept as true, the best Patients and Primary M.D.’s are those who are informed.

HISTORY OF WEST GASTROENTEROLOGY GROUP
During the fall season of 1978, a small group of recent UCLA and USC medical graduates in internal medicine and gastroenterology envisioned the formation of an internal medicine medical group operating at one facility.  The fruits of their labor resulted in the formation of DARC (an acronym composed of the first letter of the first name of each founding member) medical group. WHAT IS GASTROENTEROLOLGY?
Gastroenterology is the study of the digestive system (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine/colon, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder). A complete gastrointestinal evaluation usually includes a consultation to determine the necessary procedure to be conducted. X-rays may be ordered and reviewed, and/or an endoscopy might be suggested.
